Description

Easy Philly Cheesesteak Sliders are a delicious and convenient twist on the classic Philadelphia sandwich. Thinly sliced ribeye steak cooked with sautéed onions and green bell peppers, topped with melty provolone cheese, all nestled into soft slider buns brushed with a flavorful garlic herb butter. Perfect for game day, parties, or a hearty snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Meat and Vegetables

  • 1 ½ pounds ribeye steak - thinly sliced (or shaved)
  • 1 yellow onion - thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper - thinly sliced

Seasonings and Sauces

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (or butter)
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt (or to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ tablespoon dried parsley

Dairy and Bread

  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • 12 slider buns
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter - melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350℉ and lightly grease a baking pan or sheet to prepare for assembling the sliders.
  2. Prepare Ingredients: Thinly slice the ribeye steak, yellow onion, and green bell pepper to ensure even cooking and easy layering on the sliders.
  3. Cook Steak: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced steak, season with ½ teaspoon salt, ¼ teaspoon black pepper, and 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce. Cook until the steak is browned and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and transfer to a bowl.
  4. Sauté Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the sliced bell pepper and onion. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste. Sauté until the vegetables are soft and slightly caramelized. Remove from heat.
  5. Assemble Sliders: Keeping the slider buns intact, slice them horizontally to create top and bottom halves. Place the bottom halves on the greased baking sheet. Layer the cooked steak evenly over the buns, followed by the sautéed onions and peppers. Place provolone cheese slices on top, then cover with the top halves of the buns.
  6. Prepare Butter Topping: Melt the salted butter, then stir in garlic powder, onion powder, and dried parsley to make a flavorful brush-on topping. Brush this mixture generously over the tops of the slider buns.
  7. Bake Sliders: Cover the sliders loosely with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 10 minutes to allow the cheese to melt and the tops to brown slightly.
  8. Serve Warm: Remove the sliders from the oven and serve immediately while warm for the best taste and texture.

Notes

  • Store any leftover sliders in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • To reheat, preheat your oven to 300℉ and bake the sliders for 15 minutes or until warmed through. Alternatively, microwave for 30-60 seconds, but note this may make the buns slightly soggy.
  • You can substitute ribeye steak with sirloin or flank steak if preferred.
  • For a spicier version, add sliced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce when assembling the sliders.
  • If slider buns are not available, small dinner rolls or soft sandwich buns can be used.
