Scale
Main Ingredients
- 4 cups cubed fresh watermelon
- ⅓ cup fresh lime juice (approximately 3–4 limes)
- 4 sprigs fresh mint
- Soda water
- Extra lime slices for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the watermelon: Cut the watermelon into cubes, discarding the rind and any white parts to ensure only the sweet red flesh is used.
- Blend the ingredients: Add the watermelon cubes and lime juice to a blender and blend until smooth. Use a tamper if necessary. If the blender is small, work in batches to blend all the watermelon evenly.
- Strain the juice: Pour the blended mixture through a fine-mesh strainer to remove any pulp, then transfer the strained juice into a jug for serving.
- Assemble the mocktail: Fill glasses or a large pitcher halfway with crushed ice, pour the watermelon lime juice, then top off with soda water to fill the remaining space.
- Garnish and serve: Garnish each glass with a sprig of fresh mint and a lime slice. Serve immediately for best refreshment.
Notes
- If you don’t have crushed ice, place ice cubes in a zip-lock bag and crush them with a rolling pin or mallet.
- Adjust the amount of lime juice according to your taste preferences—add more for extra tanginess or reduce slightly for a sweeter mocktail.
- Use fresh watermelon and fresh lime juice for the best flavor and brightness.
- This mocktail is best served immediately to retain the bubbly soda and fresh flavors.
