Description

Hot Honey Salmon Bites are flavorful bite-sized salmon pieces seasoned with paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder, cooked to perfection in an air fryer and coated in a sweet and spicy hot honey glaze. Ideal as a tasty appetizer or a light main course, served with a garnish of fresh parsley.

Ingredients

Scale

Salmon Bites

  • 1 ½ pounds salmon, about 4 filets, skins removed, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Hot Honey Glaze

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
  • ¼ cup (85 g) hot honey, homemade or store-bought

Garnish

  • parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 390°F to ensure it reaches the right temperature for cooking the salmon bites evenly.
  2. Season Salmon: In a large bowl, combine extra virgin olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, kosher salt, and black pepper. Add the salmon cubes and gently toss to coat all pieces evenly with the seasoning mixture.
  3. Air Fry Salmon: Arrange the seasoned salmon bites in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. If necessary, cook in batches to avoid overcrowding. Air fry for 9-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking, until the internal temperature reads 140-145°F.
  4. Prepare Hot Honey Sauce: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add the unsalted butter and hot honey. Stir occasionally until melted and warmed through, then remove from heat.
  5. Toss Salmon in Sauce: Add the cooked salmon bites to the hot honey sauce. Gently toss to coat each piece thoroughly with the sweet and spicy glaze.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle chopped parsley over the glazed salmon bites as a fresh garnish. Serve immediately as an appetizer or main course.

Notes

  • Oven Instructions: Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place seasoned salmon cubes evenly spaced on the sheet. Bake for 16 minutes, flipping halfway through, until internal temperature reaches 145°F. Toss in hot honey sauce and garnish with parsley before serving.
  • You can make your own hot honey by warming honey with chili flakes or use a store-bought version for convenience.
  • Salmon bites cook quickly; monitor internal temperature carefully to avoid overcooking and dryness.
  • For a milder version, reduce the amount of hot honey or substitute with regular honey.
  • Use fresh parsley for the best flavor and presentation.
