Description

These Grinch Christmas Truffles are a festive and delicious holiday treat made with crushed Oreos, creamy whipped cream cheese, and coated in green-colored vanilla almond bark. Topped with red heart sprinkles, they are perfect for holiday parties and gift-giving.

Ingredients

Scale

Base

  • 36 Regular Oreos
  • ½ cup whipped cream cheese spread

Coating

  • 12 ounces vanilla almond bark
  • Green gel food coloring
  • 18 red heart sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Crush Oreos: Place the Oreos in a food processor or blender and crush completely into crumbs, about 3 minutes.
  2. Mix with Cream Cheese: Pour the crumbs into a large mixing bowl and stir in the whipped cream cheese spread until a thick mixture forms, using clean hands to combine thoroughly.
  3. Form Balls: Scoop the mixture into 1 ½ tablespoon-sized balls using a cookie scoop and roll them smooth.
  4. Chill: Place the balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for 1 hour or until firm.
  5. Melt Almond Bark: Place the vanilla almond bark in a microwave-safe bowl and heat for 1 minute, then stir. Continue microwaving in 15-30 second increments, stirring between each, until fully melted, about 2 minutes total.
  6. Add Color: Stir in green gel food coloring until the desired color is achieved, avoiding liquid food coloring to prevent seizing.
  7. Coat Truffles: Dip each chilled truffle ball into the melted almond bark, fully covering it. Let excess drip off and return to the parchment-lined sheet.
  8. Add Sprinkles: Place a red heart sprinkle on each truffle while the coating is still soft.
  9. Final Chill: Refrigerate the coated truffles for 1 hour or until the coating is set.
  10. Serve: Serve the truffles cold or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Store truffles covered in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
  • Freeze truffles wrapped and stored in a freezer-safe container for 3-4 months.
  • You can substitute any favorite Oreo variety in place of regular Oreos.
  • Regular cream cheese may be used but should be softened to room temperature and used in a slightly lesser amount.
  • Decorate with any heart candy or sprinkles, or leave plain if preferred.
  • Using hands to mix Oreo crumbs and cream cheese makes combining easier than using a spoon.
  • Do not use liquid food coloring with almond bark as it will cause seizing.
