Description

Grilled Peaches with Vanilla Ice Cream is a quick and delightful dessert combining the natural sweetness of ripe peaches and nectarines with smoky grill marks, topped with creamy vanilla ice cream, a drizzle of honey, and a touch of sea salt for a perfect balance of flavors.

Ingredients

Scale

Fruits

  • 2 ripe peaches
  • 2 ripe nectarines

Other

  • 2 teaspoons canola oil
  • 8 large scoops vanilla ice cream
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill. Heat the grill to medium-high heat to prepare for grilling the fruit.
  2. Prepare the fruit. Cut the peaches and nectarines in half and remove the pits. Brush the cut sides lightly with canola oil to prevent sticking during grilling.
  3. Grill the fruit. Place the fruit halves cut side down on the grill. Grill for about 3-4 minutes in total, rotating them 90 degrees halfway through cooking to create attractive grill marks and to allow the fruit to caramelize slightly.
  4. Remove and serve. Using tongs, carefully remove the grilled fruit from the grill. Place each half on a serving plate and top the center with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream.
  5. Finish with honey and sea salt. Drizzle honey over the ice cream and sprinkle flaky sea salt over the top to enhance the flavors and add a delicious contrast.

Notes

  • Select peaches and nectarines that are ripe yet firm enough to hold their shape on the grill.
  • Canola oil is used for its neutral flavor and high smoke point; you can substitute with other neutral oils if preferred.
  • Use flaky sea salt for a delicate texture and balanced saltiness.
  • For added flavor, consider dusting the fruit with a pinch of cinnamon before grilling.
  • This dessert is best served immediately to enjoy the contrast between warm fruit and cold ice cream.
