Instructions
- Preheat and prepare pan: Preheat oven to 350° F and grease a 13×9 inch baking pan thoroughly.
- Make the base layer: In a large mixing bowl, combine the red velvet cake mix, melted butter, and egg. Blend together well using an electric mixer until fully incorporated to create a cookie-like batter.
- Bake base layer: Pour the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan and spread smooth. Bake for 15 minutes, then remove from oven and allow to cool completely for 30 minutes.
- Prepare cream cheese layer: In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese and confectioners sugar together until smooth. Add ¼ cup milk and mix well. Stir in 8 ounces of whipped topping and the crushed peppermint candies until evenly combined.
- Assemble cream cheese layer: Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the cooled red velvet base. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to set.
- Prepare pudding layer: In a large bowl, whisk together the remaining 2 ½ cups milk and both vanilla instant pudding mixes until thickened. Add green gel food coloring gradually, starting with 5-6 drops, until desired color is achieved.
- Assemble pudding layer: Pour the green pudding evenly over the cream cheese layer. Return the pan to the refrigerator and chill for at least 2 hours until fully set.
- Add final whipped topping layer: When ready to serve, spread the remaining 8 ounces of whipped topping evenly over the set pudding layer.
- Garnish and serve: Sprinkle the top with holiday colored sprinkles for a festive finish. Serve chilled.
