Description

This festive Christmas Monkey Bread features soft biscuit dough pieces filled with sprinkles and Hershey Kisses, coated in cinnamon sugar, baked in a buttery brown sugar sauce, making it a sweet, gooey treat perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough

  • 2 packages refrigerated biscuit dough, such as Pillsbury Grands
  • Christmas sprinkles, as desired
  • Hershey Kisses, unwrapped, any flavor, about 24 pieces

Cinnamon Sugar Coating

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 tablespoons ground cinnamon

Brown Sugar Butter Sauce

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350℉. Generously spray a bundt pan with non-stick cooking spray and set it aside for later.
  2. Prepare Biscuit Dough Balls: Cut each biscuit into quarters using a pizza slicer or knife. Slightly flatten each quarter, then add a few Christmas sprinkles and one unwrapped Hershey Kiss. Roll each piece into a ball, ensuring the candy and sprinkles are enclosed inside. Repeat until all dough pieces are prepared.
  3. Coat Dough Balls with Cinnamon Sugar: Combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a large resealable plastic bag. Add a few dough balls at a time to the bag, seal it, and shake gently until each ball is thoroughly coated with the cinnamon sugar mixture. Remove the coated balls and place them evenly into the prepared bundt pan. Continue until all balls are coated and layered in the pan.
  4. Make Butter and Brown Sugar Sauce: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and then stir in the brown sugar. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is fully melted and smooth to create a rich sauce.
  5. Pour Sauce Over Dough Balls: Pour the warm butter and brown sugar sauce evenly over the coated biscuit dough balls in the bundt pan, making sure to cover the tops and sides.
  6. Bake: Place the bundt pan in the preheated oven and bake for 40 minutes, or until the monkey bread is deeply golden brown on top and cooked through.
  7. Cool and Serve: Remove the bundt pan from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes. Then, place a serving plate over the pan and carefully invert the pan to release the monkey bread onto the plate. Sprinkle with a few additional Christmas sprinkles for decoration. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Using a pizza slicer to quarter the biscuit dough is faster and makes uniform pieces.
  • Ensure the Hershey Kisses are fully enclosed in the dough balls to prevent leaking during baking.
  • Allow the monkey bread to cool slightly before inverting to avoid burns and ensure it comes out cleanly.
  • Store any leftovers covered at room temperature and reheat gently before serving.
  • For a different flavor twist, try using white chocolate or peppermint Hershey Kisses.
