Description

This festive Christmas Gumdrop Nougat Candy is a delightful treat combining creamy white chocolate, fluffy marshmallows, and colorful Dots candy. Perfect for holiday gifting or enjoying as a sweet snack, this simple and quick recipe results in a chewy, chewy nougat studded with fruity gumdrops for a burst of flavor and fun.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 10 ounces Dots Candy
  • 1 10-ounce bag mini marshmallows
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 ¾ cups white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pan: Line an 8×8 inch pan with parchment paper and set aside to ensure easy removal of the nougat candy later.
  2. Melt Chocolate: Place white chocolate chips in a small, microwave-safe bowl and microwave on high for 2 minutes and 30 seconds, stirring every 30 seconds until completely smooth and creamy. Set aside.
  3. Heat Marshmallows and Butter: In a medium mixing bowl, combine mini marshmallows and unsalted butter. Microwave on high for 2 minutes or until the marshmallows have puffed up and risen to the top.
  4. Combine Mixture: Remove the bowl from the microwave and stir thoroughly until the butter is fully melted and the marshmallows are smooth and combined.
  5. Add Chocolate and Gumdrops: Quickly stir the melted white chocolate into the marshmallow mixture. Then add all but ⅓ cup of the Dots candy and fold evenly to distribute throughout the nougat.
  6. Form Nougat: Immediately pour the mixture into the prepared pan. Spray your hands with cooking spray and spread the mixture evenly in the pan.
  7. Garnish: Press the reserved ⅓ cup of Dots candy onto the top of the nougat, filling in any gaps for a colorful and festive appearance.
  8. Set and Cool: Allow the nougat candy to cool and set at room temperature for at least 4 hours and 25 minutes before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

  • Using cooking spray on your hands prevents the sticky nougat from adhering to your fingers while spreading.
  • If you prefer, you can press the Dots candy into the top immediately to ensure they stick well.
  • Store nougat candy in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
  • For easier cutting, chill the nougat briefly before slicing.
