Ingredients
Scale
Egg Mixture
- 5 large eggs
- ½ medium red bell pepper, chopped
- ½ medium green bell pepper, chopped
- ¼ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- ¼ teaspoon pepper (or to taste)
Other Ingredients
- 8 slices bacon, fried
- 8 ounce crescent rolls (refrigerated, 1 can Pillsbury crescents)
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 large egg (for egg wash, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 375℉ to ensure it's ready when the crescent ring is assembled.
- Cook bacon: Fry the 8 slices of bacon until crispy, then drain the fat from the skillet.
- Prepare egg mixture: Beat the 5 large eggs with chopped red and green bell peppers, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Scramble eggs: Using the same skillet (now with drained fat), cook the eggs until just set and still soft, then remove from heat.
- Arrange crescent dough: Lay out the crescent rolls on parchment paper in a star shape as shown in the pictures.
- Add fillings: Place a slice of bacon on each crescent segment. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese around the ring, add the scrambled eggs on top, then top with the remaining cheese.
- Fold crescents: Fold the crescent dough over the fillings to enclose them into a ring shape. Optionally, brush the dough with the beaten egg wash for a golden finish.
- Bake: Carefully transfer the parchment with the ring onto a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve: Garnish with parsley if desired. Serve the breakfast ring warm to enjoy the flaky dough and melted cheese.
Notes
- Keep the dough cold until ready to assemble for easier handling.
- Cook bacon and vegetables fully beforehand to prevent soggy dough.
- Scramble eggs just until set to avoid overcooking as they will finish cooking in the oven.
- Customize fillings but avoid overloading to ensure even baking.
- You can assemble the ring ahead and refrigerate; bake fresh when ready to serve.
- Best served warm for optimal flakiness and melty cheese.
