Scale
Main Ingredients
- 1 head cauliflower chopped into small florets (about 3 cups)
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup Italian breadcrumbs
- ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Olive oil for frying
- Chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Steam Cauliflower: Bring a large pot of water to a boil and steam the cauliflower florets for 10 minutes or until tender but still mashable. Drain well and cool slightly before mashing.
- Mash Cauliflower: In a large bowl, mash the cooked cauliflower with a fork or potato masher until it is slightly chunky.
- Mix Ingredients: Add the all-purpose flour, Italian breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, grated parmesan, egg, salt, and black pepper to the mashed cauliflower and stir until well combined.
- Form Patties: Shape the cauliflower mixture into small, uniform patties for even cooking.
- Fry Patties: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-low heat. Cook the patties in batches for 8 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Add more oil as needed.
- Garnish and Serve: Garnish the fritters with chopped green onions and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
- Reheat refrigerated or frozen fritters in a skillet or air fryer to maintain crispiness.
- For a gluten-free version, substitute the all-purpose flour and breadcrumbs with gluten-free alternatives.
- You can add herbs like parsley or dill to the batter for extra flavor.
