Description

Delicious and crispy cauliflower fritters made with steamed cauliflower, parmesan cheese, and Italian breadcrumbs, pan-fried to golden perfection. Perfect as a snack, appetizer, or side dish.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 head cauliflower chopped into small florets (about 3 cups)
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup Italian breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Olive oil for frying
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Steam Cauliflower: Bring a large pot of water to a boil and steam the cauliflower florets for 10 minutes or until tender but still mashable. Drain well and cool slightly before mashing.
  2. Mash Cauliflower: In a large bowl, mash the cooked cauliflower with a fork or potato masher until it is slightly chunky.
  3. Mix Ingredients: Add the all-purpose flour, Italian breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, grated parmesan, egg, salt, and black pepper to the mashed cauliflower and stir until well combined.
  4. Form Patties: Shape the cauliflower mixture into small, uniform patties for even cooking.
  5. Fry Patties: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-low heat. Cook the patties in batches for 8 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Add more oil as needed.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Garnish the fritters with chopped green onions and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
  • Reheat refrigerated or frozen fritters in a skillet or air fryer to maintain crispiness.
  • For a gluten-free version, substitute the all-purpose flour and breadcrumbs with gluten-free alternatives.
  • You can add herbs like parsley or dill to the batter for extra flavor.
